In the year 1954, Usha International Limited was formed. The company started as a private limited company, and therefore in the year 1975, the Private word was dropped from its name. The former name of the company was Agents and Distributors Limited, which was later changed to Usha International Limited, in the year 1982. From the year 1990, the sales of the company's products started to increase, and in the year 1997, the company began importing sewing machines from Japan. As of the year 2006, the company entered the ceiling fans market and began manufacturing ceiling fans as well.
