Toshiba History

Toshiba Corporation was founded in the year 1875. The company has been operational for more than 143 years now. The former name of the company was Tokyo Shibaura Denki K.K. But, in the year 1939, a merger happened between the company founded in 1875 and a similar company founded in the year 1939. Thus the real Toshiba Corporation was established. The company also started trading its stocks and shares on the Tokyo Stock Exchange as well. Toshiba first started its business with semiconductors, and then slowly moved towards manufacturing televisions and other electronics, such as laptops. Then the company moved towards the manufacturing of hard drives and later on flash storages as well.
