Tata Sky is a joint venture between 21st Century Fox and Tata Group. It is a direct broadcast satellite TV provider based in India. By the utilization of the MPEG-4 technology, Tata Sky is able to transmit GSAT-10 Satellite and INSAT-4A.

​Tata Sky History

Tata Sky was established in 2001 but its service provision in India began five years later. It operates as a merger between 21st Century Fox and Tata Group with equity ownership of 201% and 70% respectively. It was not until 2008 that they incorporated another shareholder Temasek Holdings which is a Singapore based firm. Currently, Temasek has 10% of the equity.

It is notable that Tata Sky was the first DHT Indian based company to be awarded ISO Certification in 2009. That milestone was instrumental in the expansion and growth of the company.
