Tata Power History

Tata Power Limited was founded in the year 1910. The company has been operational for more than 109 years now. The founder of the company is Dorabji Tata. In the year 1916, the company also merged with another company producing electricity, known as the Andhra Valley Power Supply Company. In the year 1915, Tata Power was responsible for commisioning the hydro-electric project in Khopoli, having a total capacity of 72 Mega Watts. In the year 1919, another plant was established in Bhivpuri, and the next one was built in Bhira, which was in the year 1922.
