RBL Bank or Ratnakar Bank was founded in the year 1943. It was at first a regional bank in Maharashtra, with two branches each in Kolhapur and Sangli. In 1959, RBL Bank became a Scheduled Commercial Bank. There have been many worthy investors in RBL Bank, including HDFC Limited, Aditya Birla Group, ICICI Lombard GI, etcetera. Around the 2010s, RBL Bank had raised around 4000 Crore INR from various investors.
