History

The Passport Seva Project was started in the year 2010, by the Ministry of External Affairs. This is to ensure to deliver passports to the citizens of India. This was done in partnership with Tata consultancy services. This made sure that the right to issue a passport remains with the Ministry of External Affairs, and also the various user data as well. This allowed the process to be more simple, efficient and transparent as well. The Ministry Of External Affairs also has collaborated with State Police as well, to aid in the physical verification of the application of the applicant, and even the delivery of passports as well. This helps the process to be much faster and hassle-free.
