New India Assurance History

​New India Assurance was founded in the year 1919. The company has been operational for almost a hundred years now. The company was founded by Dorabji Tata, and it gained nationalisation in the year 1973. The company was previously a part of the General Insurance Corporation of India or GIC. But, in the year 1999, when GIC was segregated by the IRDAI Act and became a re-insurance company, four more companies were formed of it, which includes New India Assurance. The company has over 31 regional offices all over India and also has its representative offices in over 28 countries worldwide.
