Nearbuy was founded in the year 2015. The headquarters of the company is based in Gurgaon, Haryana, India. The founders of the company were Snehesh Mitra, Ankur Warikoo and Ravi Shankar. The current CEO of the company is Ankur Warikoo. There are currently about more than 300 employees working at the company. The company had its presence since 2010 when Groupon India was launched, and then in 2015, it started to act as its subsidiary, when the management buyout took place, and the company was renamed to Nearbuy. The company then raised a total of about $17 million from Sequoia India. In the year 2017, the company also raised capital from PayTM as well. The current shareholders of the company are Sequoia Capital and Groupon India. The current business model involves a commission of 2-25 per cent for Nearbuy and the rest for the merchants.
