About Ksrtc
Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation or commonly known as Ksrtc is an Indian transportation company, which is owned by the Karnataka State Government. The company hold the most number of Volvo buses among all other state-owned transport corporations in India. The corporation is also wholly owned by the Government of Karnataka. The corporation currently has a revenue of more than 16 billion INR, as of the year 2008-2009. Also, the current chairman of the company is K. Gopala Poojary.

Ksrtc was founded in the year 1948. The company has been operational for 70 years now. The headquarters of the company is based in Bengaluru, India. The corporation was previously known as MGRTD or Mysore Government Road Transport Department. Then in the year 1973, the name was renamed to Ksrtc. In the year 1997, the corporation was divided into two halves, known as the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation or BMTC and the North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation or NWKRTC. At a later stage, the North Eastern Karnataka Road Transport Corporation or NEKRTC was also formed as well.
