Jaquar was founded in the year 1986. The founder of the company is Ajay Mehra, Rajesh Mehra and Krishan Mehra. It has been reported that the family of Mehta has been in this business from the year 1960 when N.L.Mehta founded the bathroom fittings company, Essco. The company plans to reach $1 billion turnovers by the year 2022, and open about 15 stores around the world. In the year 2016, the company acquired 51 per cent stake in a South Korean shower maker, known as JoeyForLife. The deal was about $1.2 million in worth. The company opened its South Korean manufacturing plant in the year 2017. Also in the year 2018, in the month of July, the company had announced that it would be training 300 plumbers, on the festival of World Youth Skill Day.
