The IndusInd Bank was founded in the year 1994. It was first inaugurated by then Finance Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh. The operations of the bank were started by using just 1 billion INR, out of which 600 million INR was used from the residents of India, and the rest were raided by from the non-residents of India, which was 400 million INR. The founder was S.P. Hinduja, and the bank is under the ownership of the Hinduja Group. The name of the bank was derived from the Indus valley civilization.
