IRCTC History

IRCTC was established in 1999 September but has grown significantly since then to play a pivotal role in tourism, hospitality, catering,and travel. It ranks among the biggest e-commerce companies by the revenue it generates. In 2013, the corporation had already registered about six lakh users and at the moment, about five lakh bookings are happening each day. Apart from online ticket provision, IRCTC offers organized tours to various customers from time to time. IRCTC has received various awards such as the Most Innovative Project of the year 2009.
