History
The Indian Bank was founded in the year 1907. The bank has been operational for 111 years. In 1969, the bank was nationalized. In 1932, the bank opened a branch in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In the year 1941, the bank opened offices in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Ipoh. In 1992, the bank was included in scam controversy. As of 2015, the bank crossed the 3,00,000 crore INR mark milestone target. The bank has two subsidiaries - one being involved in Merchant Banking Services, and the other in Housing.
