Hitachi History

Hitachi was founded in the year 1910. The company has been operational for 108 years now. The founder of the company was Namihei Odaira. Hitachi’s first product was a 5 HP induction motor. It was first made for copper mining. Slowly the company became a domestic leader in the electric motor industry. The headquarters of Hitachi was moved to Tokyo in 1918. During World War II, many factory units of Hitachi was destroyed. In 1949, the company went public limited. Hitachi was established in the USA in 1959, and Europe in 1982.
