Flipkart History

The founders of Flipkart are Binny Bansal and Sachin Bansal who are unrelated but both graduated from Indian Institute of Technology. In 2007, these two set up the company and initially it was an online bookstore shipping the whole country. Through technology, Flipkart continued to grow and expand and by 2008, the company was getting about 100 orders daily. In 2011, Flipkart acquired Mime360.com. In 2014, there was a partnership between Flipkart and Motorola mobility which was an Indian retailer for smartphones. By 2015, Flipkart stopped mobile access of the website such that all its mobile gadgets customers had to download the app which played a pivotal role in its growth.
