Eveready Industries India Limited was founded in the year 1905. The company is currently active for more than 114 years now. The company is currently the world’s third-largest carbon-zinc battery producer. Eveready has about 46 per cent of the market in batteries, and 85 per cent market share in flashlights in India. The first plant of the company was set up in the year 1939. In the year 1952, another plant was established in Chennai. The company also suffered its factory disaster in Bhopal, in the year 1984. Currently, the company has the license of using the brand name Eveready, in countries like India, Nepal and Bhutan, from Energizer.
