​Dell was founded in the year 1984. The company has been operational for 34 years now. The headquarters are based in Texas, USA. The company was named after the founder, Michael Dell. Michael Dell dropped out from his school and started to focus more on his business with a capital of just $1000. The first computer was produced, which as known as Turbo PC, which was sold for $795. The company already grossed $73 million within a year of its operation. In 1988, the market cap of Dell grew from $30 million to $80 million. During the years, from 1997 to 2004, Dell enjoyed steady growth in the PC market. In 1996, Dell's website had gone live, and Dell started selling PCs via its website. Michael Dell resigned as CEO in the year 2004. Dell also acquired Alienware in the following years.
