The BIG TV was founded way back in August 2008 and is currently re-named as Reliance BIG TV. It is a subsidiary of Reliance Industries. BIG TV has been in operation for more than ten years for now. The founder of BIG TV was Anil Ambani. Since there were no such operators during the launch, it managed to acquire almost a million subscribers within three months of its release. As of 2018, the service is now bought by Pantel Technologies and Veecon Media. In the month of March 2018, Reliance Digital TV was again re-branded as Independent TV. It had to then enter into a new contract with STAR India Group, to provide installations in 2018. In March of 2018, a pre-booking DTH service was also launched as well.
