About Bhim App
Bharat Interface For Money or commonly known as BHIM is a mobile payments smartphone application, which has been developed in the country India, by National Payments Corporation of India or NPCI. The smartphone app is based on the United Payments Interface or UPI. The smartphone application is currently available for Android and iOS, on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The app is available in about 13 different languages. It was named after late honorary Indian, B.R. Ambedkar. The app was launched in the year 2016, mainly to drive towards a cashless future, after the 2016 Demonetisation scheme by the Government of India. The application currently supports all the Indian banks and can send or receive money between two parties using the app on their smartphone, make online payment for shopping, mobile recharges, etcetera.

Bhim App was launched in the year 2016, by Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in New Delhi, Delhi, India. As of the year 2017, there are about 125 lac Indian users of the Bhim App. This news was reported by the Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, at the Union Budget of the year 2017. The Government have also planned to launch two programs for the app, one of them being a referral program, the other being cashback programs for online shopping merchants, like Amazon India, Flipkart, etcetera. The app is also set to support about 22 languages in the future as well, which is an increase from the current support of 13 languages.
