Together the partnership created the health insurance company in India. The company also provides accident and travel insurances as well. Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company Limited was founded in the year 2007. The founder of the company was Anthony Jacob. The collaboration was first done between Apollo Hospitals and DKV AG, which turned out to be Apollo DKV. And then, the partnership was done between Apollo DKV and Munich Re, forming the alliance for Apollo Munich Health Insurance. With the Apollo DKV collaboration, Apollo owns about 74 per cent of the shares, and the rest by DKV AG. In the year 2012, the company had won the Asia Insurance Award for being the most innovative insurance company in that same year.
